Steve B. Walser is an accomplished guide, instructor, fly tier, outfitter, conservationist, writer, photographer and lecturer. He became a guide at the age of 15 and just before his 18th birthday he opened his first guide service and fly shop. Since that time, Steve has owned and operated Sierra West Adventrures, the most successful guide service in the Yosemite National Park region, has been the executive director of a non-profit organization that built and protected Salmon and Steelhead habitat, traveled the world as a guide, outfitter, photographer and has consistently spent the last 21 years of his life guiding 200 days plus a year.
Now in his thirties, Steve splits his time between our West Slope Rivers and Oregon's Rogue Valley where he owns Southern Oregon Adventures. Chasing the trophy salmon and steelhead of the Rogue, Umpqua and other rivers in the area with his clients, Steve has been fishing and arranging trips to Southern Oregon for 15 years.
Tim
Smith has been fishing and guiding for 30 plus years on the waters of the West Slope of the Sierra and in Alaska. Tim is a very diverse angler who has extensive knowledge of all waters we guide. From our Sierra trout streams to our Tailwater bass & striper fishing, and all waters in between, Tim has a unique style of angling that he works to teach his clients.
Tim is a master fly-tier who has taught countless anglers including or guides much in our famous marathon tying sessions. His innovative patterns have become the "bread and butter" of our guide service in many cases.
As the longest tenured at Sierra West Adventures, Tim's easy going demeanor and enthusiasm for guiding and fishing for all species has made him a client favorite of ours for over twenty years.
Nick
Anderson has bee
n a guide on the West Slope for the past 10 years. We have been truley amazed at Nick's ability as an angler and guide as he continues to impress us every season . Nick has a great feel for the water and an uncanny gift to find some of the biggest trophy fish we have seen landed over the past few seasons.
Nick is a graduate of Fresno State with a degree in business finance, co-owns and operates a successful construction company and has been a representative for large construction supply company. Whether he is guiding here on the West Slope or in Oregon's Rogue Valley, Nick's true passion is chasing fish with his clients wherever he may be.
Kameron B.
Walser has literally spent his entire life fishing with his father and the other guides he has lived around. From the age of three when he first fished a small trout pond in Northern California, he has been hooked. Kam has spent more time on the water in his 13 years than most anglers spend in a lifetime. His enthusiasm for every cast thrown is infectious to be around, not only keeping up with some of the very best fisherman in the business, he frequently out fishes them. On his 10th birthday, Kam's hard work and effort paid off... He landed the 33 inch 13 pound buck on the Rogue river, which is featured on the Home page of or sister website.
Never missing a chance to be on the river, Kam has begun accompanying our guides when they have single clients as the "Co-Guide".

Dave "Papa Bear" Anderson is always willing to lend a hand at our tout and steelhead camps and hosted outings around the Country. Dave has been a serious angler for 50 years having fished for all species from Northern Idaho, down to Central California and just about everywhere in between. His willingness to share his "old school" knowledge of fishing and virtually every other aspect of life is something that we all cherish and appreciate.
Dave recently went back to his roots leading a hosted trip to the Clearwater River in Idaho where he cut his teeth as a serious steelhead angler. Hooking more than three times more fish than anyone else in the group, Dave showed us all that we still had a few things to learn about this sport.
